Allyson Felix, an Olympian hero, has just added a new member to her squad! She and her hubby, Kenneth Ferguson, are all smiles with the arrival of their second munchkin. Remember back in November? That’s when they spilled the beans about expecting another bundle of joy.
April 10th was the day their world got a little brighter. They welcomed a baby boy into their lives. “We are overjoyed to welcome our son,” they shared, bursting with happiness. They decided to name the little guy after his dad, Kenneth Maurice Ferguson III. But, here’s the cute part: they’re calling him Trey. Yep, Trey’s gonna be his go-to name. And guess what? He’s got a big sis, Camryn, who’s 5 and probably super excited to have a partner in crime.
Oh, and did you catch their update on Instagram? People Magazine shared the sweetest post about it.
Allyson had a heart-to-heart with PEOPLE magazine, opening up about her journey to Trey’s arrival. It was a stark contrast to her first go-round with Camryn, which was honestly pretty scary. She faced severe preeclampsia at 32 weeks and needed an emergency c-section. “As a Black woman,” she said, “I desperately wanted a joyful birth experience I could celebrate this time.” And thankfully, she found a doctor who really got her, making her feel seen and safe.
She didn’t stop there. Allyson praised her support team, including a doula who was her rock. She achieved the unmedicated VBAC she’d hoped for, describing it as powerful, challenging, healing, and beautiful. This experience has lit a fire in her to keep pushing for better Black maternal health. “My birth experience inspires me,” she said, determined to advocate for women to be heard and supported.
Allyson Felix’s Instagram is brimming with love and joy for their new arrival. It’s a must-see.
Big congrats to Allyson and Kenneth! Here’s to their adventure as a family of four, filled with love, laughter, and endless cuddles.
Now, switching gears a bit. Let’s talk about Kate Fann, the writer behind these heartfelt words. She’s living her best life in East Tennessee with her husband, Casey, and their two boys, Quinn and Noah. When she’s not crafting stories or diving into Instagram, you might find her sipping on fine wine, experimenting with makeup, baking something scrumptious, or exploring the stunning Smoky Mountains.
